Me:

My name is Andrew McAvinchey. I live in Dublin, Ireland. Most of the time.

I write obscene emails to my friends. I walk the dog on the beach. I live ‘As If’.

I love Ashtanga Yoga, writing, music, art, people, fresh air, good food, healthy stuff, going for a pint sometimes with the lads… Professionally I’ve been working with digital media for about 10 years. I get bored easily and I’m always looking for interesting stories and people to satisfy my curiosity. I like genuine, passionate projects that get my juices flowing. I’m in the middle of a life change which will very likely result in me either becoming a gardener or the supreme ruler of the universe, or both.

I’ve made a couple of films, some of which I’m still trying to finish, some you can find online or out there, somewhere, if you Google. I write all the time, though rarely in public, which I’m hoping might change.

I’m interested in stories and finding ways to communicate or express them.

That includes mobile, web, video and all the media available in the digital world. I like the stories behind the technology – Life without wires.

These are the kind of words people are using these days for that sort of thing: content, narrative, online publishing, virals, social media, user generated content, cross platform production, diy, art….

In response to a book on writing that I read entitled “First Thought Best Thought”, I thought I’d give blogging a go- on the basis that its good to share thoughts, if only to get to the bottom of things.

So I’m going to put my first thoughts here, or at least try to give them some space…and we’ll see what happens.
